In her lessons, Renee stresses the importance of the basic techniques required for successful clarinet playing and seeks to enable her students to become self-motivated learners, and thus, self-sufficient. Lesson topics range from beginning techniques such as correct posture and breathing, embouchure, hand position, and basic music concepts, to advanced techniques such as varied tonguing methods, reed working, finger tension, musicality, and advanced repertoire study.
