Renee Muir

Beginning her clarinet study at the age of eight, Renee has over twenty years of orchestral, chamber, and solo performance experience.

Born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, Renee began taking private clarinet lessons at the age of eight and began studying with the principal clarinetist of the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra at the age of thirteen. Throughout high school she competed in the Alaska All-State, Solo & Ensemble, and All-Northwest music festivals, receiving superior ratings and being selected for command performances. Renee also had the opportunity to travel to Europe and participate in exchanges with various youth symphonies. 

 

Renee received her BA in Music Education from God’s Bible School & College in Cincinnati, Ohio, studying under retired Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra clarinetist, Carmine Campione. She then completed her MM in Music Performance at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she studied under Distinguished Professor Michele Gingras. 

 

Renee has been teaching private clarinet lessons since 2011 and instructs a wide-range of ages and ability levels: beginner through advanced. As a free-lance musician, she has been hired as a recording studio clarinetist and for various ensemble performances throughout the greater Cincinnati area.
